JR 9303/9X II Setup

The throttle connects to THRO channel (1)

The auxiliary connects to GEAR channel (5).

Make sure under DEVICE SEL that ch.5 shows ACT(not INH or GOV)

  ATV setup [TRVL ADJ.]

Setup the throttle servo and linkage as close to +/- 100% ATV as possible
with throttle trim lever slid down.

Have your Norm throttle curve set from 0-100%

Set the GEAR channel ATV to +100% and -100%

The system is now ready for calibration.  As soon as you turn on the RX
you should rapidly toggle the gear switch. Starting at high position go
down-up-down-up. Now you will have a very fast flashing GREEN led. Move your
throttle from low to high and you will see the LED change from green to
yellow at high stick.  Go back to low throttle(flashing green LED) and toggle gear switch
down-up and LED will go out. Now you are calibrated.

Activate the GOVERNOR function in the DEVICE.SEL menu (accessed from the
SYSTEM Menu).

       OUT: GOV

Go to your GOV screen and you will see that you can adjust 3 different
values(norm,st1,st2). 0% keeps it disabled and above 7% is enabled. Use the
method below for determining headsped values.

  RevMax Setup

For this example we are using a ¾ stick hover, which puts zero degrees
pitch at ½ stick and have selected GOV screen for flight mode control.

It is best to have a helper on this, but it can be done alone. Just be
very careful and do not attempt it alone if it's windy or it just sounds
crazy to you.

Set GOV screen to 0% for normal mode. This disables RM for next actions.

Go to norm flight mode throttle curve screen and select mid-point of
throttle curve.

Using SkyTach, or any handheld tach that keeps you a safe distance from
the heli, set tach display to read slightly higher than the highest
headspeed you want the RM to limit. (1850 for this example)

Stand away from heli and spool up to 0 degree pitch setting. (1/2 stick)

This is the tricky part if you are alone. Slowly increase mid-point
throttle percentage in your radio until the speed you selected for the Tach
and Heli headspeed match. (For this example blades will appear to have
stopped when you reach 1850 rpm)

Slowly bring throttle back to low stick.
Now adjust Tach display to read the actual headspeed you want TJ to
limit.(1800)

On the governor screen, adjust NORM position value to 15% to make sure the
RM is enabled.

Now spool heli up again to zero degrees, the headspeed should be
significantly lowered(and possibly pulsing) now because RM is being
enabled.(setting is above 7%)

Still on the GOV screen, slowly increase the
NORM value up from 15% until blades appear stopped (viewing through SkyTach)
and that will be the value required for a 1800 rpm limit. You can now enter
that value into either ST1 or ST2 for the headspeed setting.

Now set SkyTach for second speed (lower) and repeat above steps but just
slowly decrease the value you have already for the NORM switch position.

After this is done, re-enter starting value for Norm throttle curve
mid-point and you are done.

You can do above steps for a two position switch also and just leave one
position at 0% for disable and enter your found value from above method for
other switch position.

 Setup for TJPro
Use the above method with the SkyTach, but with the exact head speed you want
selected versus a slightly higher head speed like above for the RevMax
and instead of increasing the midpoint of your throttle curve you will
keep your normal flight mode curve values.

Select the NORM switch position under the GOVENOR Menu and enter 0%.
Spool heli up to 0 degrees pitch throttle position.(1/2 stick)

Slowly increase the NORM value from the 0% (TJ disabled) setting while in
normal mode. You will notice a rapid head speed decrease as soon as a value
over 7% is reached (this is TJ engaging).

While someone is viewing through tach, increase NORM value until head
speed you set Tach at is reached. This is your high head speed so make note
of that value.
Reduce tach display to second head speed desired and then decrease Norm
value on GOV screen to attain the next head speed.

Now you have your values for the head speed's you want to maintain. Enter
them into the corresponding flight condition switch position and go fly.
